　 北海道から九州，潮間帯上部から下部の転石下（今原 2011）．

　 干潮線付近の石の下やカキ殻の間に M. koreana とともに生息（大和 1985）， 瀬戸内海向島ではほかに2種が同所的に採集され， 雌の第6底節板や雄の第1咬脚などで識別される（大和 1985, Yamato 1987）． 瀬戸内海，天草，および北海道の標本をもとに再記載された（Yamato 1987）．
　 瀬戸内海産 M. koreana は少なくとも4種の近縁種から成り， 新動物図鑑所載の図^*1は M. rylovae （長崎大学 1986 p.13）．
^*1 体表ほとんど平滑， 第5腹節背縁に3-4対の棘を具え歯状を呈しない（岡田ら 1965）など， Yamato 1987 による M. rylovae の記載とは合致しない部分がある．
